We had an absolute BLAST! Here are the pics from our vacation - just three days in the sand and sun - that was all we could handle with Travis and Tyler!

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 1

Itenerary: Left NB around 9:15 a.m., lunch at Whataburger in Corpus Christi, Texas (home of Whataburger!), trip to the Texas State Aquarium, check in the hotel, dinner at Pier 99.

WELCOME TO CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS!!! This cute wall was about 2 blocks from our hotel! Posted by Picasa

The Griscom Men - Welcome! Posted by Picasa

The view from the bridge in Corpus Christi on the way to our hotel...the Texas State Aquarium is in the bottom right corner and just past the USS Lexington on the left is our hotel (not pictured). Posted by Picasa

THE TEXAS STATE AQUARIUM!!! Travis was so excited to be here, he could NOT stand still! We looked forward to seeing lots of Texas marine life, including dolphins and stingrays! This is a great place to visit, and even though it seemed a bit pricey at first, it was worth the cost! Posted by Picasa

Here is a tank with sea crabs and anenomes! Posted by Picasa

One area Travis reeeeeeally wanted to see was the stingray flats. He talked constantly about it, and then we got down there, he was scared to pieces! Posted by Picasa

They are really cool creatures! Posted by Picasa

FINALLY!!! After MANY tears, a minor panic attack and a few shouts, we got Travis' hand in the water and he actually TOUCHED a stingray! Posted by Picasa

We took a "small" break on the alligator statues...whew! Posted by Picasa

The USS Lexington as seen from the Texas State Aquarium! Posted by Picasa

We watched this outstanding dolphin show with Kimo and Sundance. Travis and Tyler thoroughly enjoyed watching them jump, flip and "walk" across the water! Posted by Picasa

The underwater view area of the dolphin tank was so cool! Posted by Picasa

Kimo and Sundance were so close, you felt like you could touch them! Posted by Picasa

Yes, one of those goofy picture thingys...this was outside Pier 99, an OUTSTANDING restaurant (thank you Michael and Meredith for the recommendation) down by our hotel! We met Uncle Robert and Bernie there for dinner! Posted by Picasa

A view from the back porch at Pier 99 - Travis, Tyler and Uncle Robert up top, watching a tanker come into the channel from the bay - Scott is on the left, watching from below! Posted by Picasa

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 2

Itenerary - swim, nap, eat, shop, swim some more, eat, bed!

Souvenir shopping - here's the entrance to one - only go if you DARE! Posted by Picasa

The pool at the Radisson was outstanding - waterfalls, a hot tub, and lots of water for two little boys to have some CLEANER fun (cleaner than the beach, that is!). Posted by Picasa

We found about 20 or so crabs on the beach (like hermit crabs, but sea crabs), so we dug a tidal pool of sorts and collected them in there. Then, after a while, we let them go back into the bay. They sure were fun to watch, crawling all over the place! Posted by Picasa

Run little crabs, run! Posted by Picasa

Fun in the sun! There's a shot at tomorrow's activity, too (The USS Lexington). Posted by Picasa

He's not having fun at all, is he? Posted by Picasa

These two could NOT sit still! Posted by Picasa

Yes, we are EATING sand. Why not? Everyone needs a little roughage in their diet! Posted by Picasa

This is one guy who had a terrific time on the beach! Posted by Picasa

Oooh! The sand is weird! Posted by Picasa
